It's Raining Weddings (hallelujah it's raining weddings)
It's in a smallish country town named Madisonville, and I am VERY excited about it!
On top of that, there's a chance that I will have a wedding in June as well. (Thanks to my awesome sister, whose friend remembered that I love photography!)
I'm so excited! This is WONDERFUL!

Coolest Thing Ever
It's SO neat that I thought I would share it with you guys :D
What they do is make it possible to print your own fabric using your printer. It's so cute, and there are so many ways I could use this!
I have been experimenting with furoshiki wrapping for the ModFauna animals and for my photos and I really love it, but it takes so long for me to hand block print the fabric. It would be amazing if I could use this stuff to create a really intricate and awesome design for the fabric and use that.

Slowly I will be working to replace each cover image with a framed one, so be patient as my shop starts to look really jumbled! I am also updating and correcting all of my image descriptions to include all of my information.

Teal Duaflex II
From painting an envelope, to a box, to the back of a photo for a prettier signature, to flowers on boxes for a prettier delivery, to a pony (which started ModFauna) and now to a Duaflex II.
Tonight I stared longingly at the broken and seemingly un-fixable Duaflex II that graced one of my floating shelves. I sell Duaflex cameras as well as many other vintage and antique cameras online, but this one was in too poor shape to pass along. It had a corroded mirror and a missing film advance knob. I decided that if it was just there for decoration, why not make it as pretty as possible? So off to work I went, disassembling and laying everything out on the table.
I looked at the corroded mirror, worn completely to the glass with no reflecting, and looked over at my compack and did some work. It's surprising to me how perfectly the compact mirror fits into the camera, so in it went.
I selected a very pleasing shade of teal for the leatherette and after taking everything apart I painted all leatherette surfaces with two coats, then sealed with a clear seal. After much cursing during reassembly, my camera looks fabulous!
It still has no film advance knob, so for the film user it is still useless, however, for the TtV photographer it is in fabulous working order. I am very pleased with my creation!
I do believe I will make a habit of this. I would like to paint one or two more and see if they sell. I think it would be very fun to have a TtV in a designer shade. I have aspirations of possibly adding designs... We'll see. For now, everything will be in solid, and I'll have to wait until I see how they will sell.
Pictures to come soon!

12 Months, 12 Fabulous Home Projects
This year I have decided to turn my creative eye towards my living space. I make so much stuff, but nothing for myself or my home, this must change! I have talked myself into ordering prints for the house, so now I have three fabulous framed pieces around.
This is a photo I took while at the Messina Hof winery in Bryan, TX with my famil the sunday after Christmas. It was such a fun day that I decided having a print to remind myself of it would be pretty great. It is in a black frame with a double mat in white sub black and the colors look just wonderful. Next to it sits a vintage water droplet shaped pedistal candy dish with a fresh coat of teal paint, two porcelain white birds, and a tiny ceramic teal acorn. Overall it gives that corner of the room a very nice feel.
The other two images are the left two images from the January Giveaway 4x4 collection. I wouldn't try to give them away if I didn't love them myself! They are in repainted green frames.
JANUARY'S PROJECT
So, big project idea for January. Headboard.
I am going to do my best to find a bring home (up all three flights of stairs) a reclaimed antique door and work some magic on it. (This is assuming my lovely lovely friend ThePaperElement is generous with the use of her hatchback because unfortunately the hybrid can't fit something like that inside! Bummer!) A little sand paper, some nails, some slats and hardware, and I hope to have a fabulous door headboard. I haven't decided the color yet, but I am sure it will come to me. I'll post some pictures once it's complete!
Prelim ideas for February include armoire and chandelier.

I'm feeling inspired.
That in mind, I am going to copy the fabulous idea of someone I saw in the (oh so addictive) Etsy chat today. MattAllen on his blog decided that once a week a picture would be shown. It has to be taken that week, but it can be an image from any of his cameras.
Love the idea.
I need motivation in my life.
I'll do my best to get started on it, and with each image I will make sure to tell its story. Hopefully the image will come with an accompanying etsy.com listing, but we'll see. Some images might be the best thing ever, and some might just be for fun.
I'll go ahead and start today!

I have a bunch of Potbelly pictures in the works! They are just the most awesome band, I really enjoyed their shoot. I hope to work with them again.
If you would like me to add my artistic touch to your band, just send me a message or leave a comment. I can alter already completed photos, or if you're in the greater Houston area I can come take some of my own.
Enjoy the new pictures!
